Always a new trick for the tourists

Air Asia has a new method of upping profit margins – freezing the passengers and selling them 35 ringgit blankets. Apparently highly visible jets of air are specially added in for extra effect.

At least some Thai banks have had their thinking caps on this past year. At least in some cases, ATMs now ask “prospects” using foreign ATM cards if they would like to “immediately” convert the withdrawn baht.

The offered “rate” is around the 30 THB/USD mark, which would amount to a commission of about 6%.

Users could easily be fooled into believing that a “no” answer would result in…. no baht. Yet appearances to the contrary, a “no” response gives you just you wanted… baht.
